New map centre after panning:
WARNING: MARKER LOCATIONS
ARE NOT EXACT! (but hopefully close...)
Marker Key:
= Observation
= Observation and Webcam
How to use:
Panning - use the in-map arrow buttons, or click and drag with
the mouse. (Double-clicking will re-centre the map on that location)
After the map pans, the new lat/long at the centre of the map
is displayed.
Zooming - use the in-map slide bar or +/- buttons to zoom in/out.
Satellite imagery - use the buttons in-map to toggle imagery
on/off (imagery will slow down subsequent panning and zooming).
Preset Zooms - the "Select Preset Zoom" dropdown menu
at top right will reload the page with a new map centre and
zoom factor. After doing this, you can bookmark the page
at your area of interest. If you want to bookmark a different
place (other than in the menu), you can modify the URL with
custom lat/long and zoom figures as in this example for Christchurch,
http://weather.noble.gen.nz/nz_obs_map.php?lt=-43.53&lg=172.64&zm=10
Corrections/Additions:
If you own/operate a weather station and would like to provide
an accurate position, use the map to zoom right in then double
click your location to pan the map and get an accurate lat/long.
Send me your updated details via my contact
form and I'll correct the marker location. Furthermore,
if you'd like me to link to a different page and/or want some
brief text in the pop-up, let me know!

Requirements". I highly recommend Firefox, which
is much faster than Internet Explorer for working with Google Maps.
